Lauren Luke, a self-taught make up artist has a lot of regular followers who log on to watch her demonstrate how to apply the right make up. Her followers were in for a surprise one morning when her face looked battered. It was actually a video to spread awareness on domestic violence.
Lauren started her tutorial in a very casual manner and went on to demonstrate how to cover up bruises if the person was a victim of domestic violence. She started off by covering a bruise in the eye area with a lot of foundation and then moved on to scratches around her mouth and taught how a scarf can be used to cover up marks around the neck.

Though the bruises were fake, it drove home a strong message - Not to hide it if you are a victim of domestic violence! Lauren said the video mock titled ?How to Look Your Best The Morning After', was created because she had a personal attachment to the cause; she is a victim of an abusive relationship herself. ?The bruising on my face for the video wasn't real, but my emotions in that video were,? she said.

We think Lauren did a commendable job of spreading awareness about the cause, that too through beauty, a popular topic of interest among women since 65% of women who are victims of domestic violence cover it up.
